August 8, 2006 - May 11, 2007
In May 2006, during the fifth month of pregnancy, Marc Anthony was diagnosed with a fatal condition called fetal acrania—a diagnosis that meant he would not survive long after birth. That day, the word *abortion* entered our lives in a painful and unexpected way. In an instant, Marc Anthony went from being seen as a healthy, valued baby to being described by an OBGYN as “a baby who was not going to live anyway.”
Despite the fear and the difficult road ahead, Marc Anthony’s parents continued to love him deeply and waited with hope for the day they would finally meet him. On August 8, 2006, our little boy was born and baptized, surrounded by his family. He had the physical challenges revealed in the ultrasound, but he also had something no scan could ever show—his determination to live, to love, and to be loved.
Marc Anthony’s life was a miracle and a beautiful love story between him and the family who cherished him throughout his seven months on earth. Each day was a gift, as he showed us his humanity, his personality, and the joy he brought simply by being himself. Then, on March 11, 2007—a day when we allowed ourselves to forget how fragile his time was—he passed peacefully into eternity in his mother’s arms.
This website is dedicated to him. It stands as a reminder of the dignity of every life, even in the face of hardship, sorrow, and uncertainty. His life brought hope and encouragement to us and to all who were blessed to know him. I pray that our experience gives you strength, especially if you are facing what feels like a hopeless situation during your pregnancy. You are not alone, and there are people ready to walk with you. Do not be afraid to love.
