August 8, 2006 - May 11, 2007
In May of 2006, during the fifth month of pregnancy, Marc Anthony was diagnosed with a fatal birth defect known as Fetal Acrania...a diagnosis that meant he would not live a full life. It was that day that the word "abortion" would enter our lives in such a profound and unexpected way. Marc Anthony went from a viable baby who had value - to a baby who was not going to live anyway" - OBGYN Dr.
Despite any fears and upcoming challenges, Marc Anthony's parents continued to love their baby and wait with anticipation of his birth. On August 8, 2006 our Lil' guy was born and was baptized with his family around him. He had the birth defects that were diagnosed in the ultrasound, but he also had so much that an ultrasound could not see - his will to live; to love and be loved!

Marc Anthony's life was a miracle, and a love story between him and his family who cared and loved him throughout the seven months of his life. Everyday was his, as he taught us to see his humanity and his own unique personality. Then on March 11, 2007, a day when we forgot to expect that he would leaves us, he passed into eternity comforted in the arms of his mother...
This website is dedicated to him. It's a testament to the dignity of all life, despite adversity, sadness and challenges. His life gave hope and encouragement to us and to those who were blessed to be a part of his time here. I pray that our experiences with him give you strength, especially if you find yourself in what seems like a hopeless situation during your pregnancy. It is not, and there are people who are willing to be there for you - Do not be afraid to love!

Perinatal Hospice & Palliative Care
If you are here because of a prenatal diagnosis that indicates your baby likely will die before or after birth, we are so sorry. Perhaps you are considering continuing your pregnancy and embracing whatever time you may be able to have with your baby, even if that time is only before birth, while your baby is cradled safely inside of you. Please know that support is available (see the links on this site for perinatal hospice & palliative care programs and other resources) and that you are not alone. Parents who have traveled this path before you have found that it can be a beautiful, profoundly meaningful, and healing journey...
